A Week of Media

I am proud to report, pardon the pun, that we received some very complimentary article in the Fresno Bee profiling me and Hocus Pocus as one of Fresno’s “Hidden Gems” in the People’s Choice section.

It seemed like calls and emails were coming in from all corners of my life, past and present. People I hadn’t heard from in years came out of the woodwork to congratulate, comment and give me the “thumbs up” on my success! It felt really good to hear from so many of you. Thank you, sincerely.

April Fool’s Day with KMPH Fox 26

We got a call from KMPH 26, the local Fox affiliate, that they wanted to come out again and do several LIVE morning shots from Hocus Pocus with on-site reporter Clayton Clark during their GREAT DAY broadcast.

Clayton loves this place because there’s always something new, different, bizarre and amazing to see. In comparison to other businesses, Hocus Pocus gets high marks. Apparently, finding interesting locales and businesses to profile for their daily broadcasts can be a challenging task.

Of course, we readily agreed to do the show, and Tim appeared on camera with Clayton for four different segments, including one where he performed the Visible Sawing Illusion.

As you may well know, The Visible Sawing is a standard one-man illusion that can be performed very effectively with an audience member, VP of Marketing, CEO, Principal or special guest.

As magicians and magic dealers, we often forget how impactful our illusion can be, but as you can see from the video, it went over VERY well on the live broadcast. Tim said he started laughing during the performance because Clayton looked so scared, even though for peace-of-mind, he’d been made privy to the secret of the illusion before the live shot.

Four Rubber Chickens found new homes, compliments of Hocus Pocus and the theme of April Fool’s Day. Clayton left happy with rubber chickens in hand and a healthy supply of flash paper, his personal favorite.

Puzzling Effect Launched by Fairchild

Several weeks ago we hinted at a new product we’re launching in conjunction with Fairchild Magic. We’ve named it Geo-Metrick and it is an excellent effect. We are so excited to be partnering with Fairchild Magic and to be granted exclusive rights to distribute this reputation-making effect!

If you’re seeking an effect that your audience WILL be talking about for days after your show, THIS is it! Geo-Metrick is most definitely a show-closer. When combined with storytelling or utilized to underscore a product or message, the impressions you’ll create are lasting and indelible.

The scenario of the “missing” or additional piece “fitting in” opens the door to a multitude of interpretations and message-based storytelling options. Ideal for professionals on so many levels: assembly programs, cruise ships, corporate & trade show pros, family entertainers or anyone desiring to deliver a mind-bending effect.

Like Father Like Son

Max headed south early this morning to rendezvous with a customer of ours to pick up a load of very collectible consignment items. Like father like son, I’ve got him in training to become a first-rate magic dealer.

The vanload of items will include a rare Cassini piece as well as several Owen Magic Supreme items, so stay tuned to the Private Estate section on the website or our daily updates if you’re subscribed. We’ll be putting items up beginning this afternoon and early next week.

Have yourself a great weekend. I’ll be working in the yard. It’s my catharsis from the work week.

Until next time my friends,

Paul
